I couldn't help but uttering a sigh when I saw Quigley. Especially the beginning credits. It showed a poorly drawn dog in different environments. Not the best beginning credits. The text effects were so BORING and didn't match Quigley at all.
Quigley had no lighting effects what so ever. The background was OBVIOUSLY blue-screened. The makers didn't even BOTHER to add good effects. (Especially when Archie is in heaven. I mean LOOK at those clouds.) Through all of this, I will give Quigley two stars. One for the Special effects and one for the plot.
2/10, */****.

Spirit has no REAL plot. This plot has probably already been taken a million times.
Spirit is is about a animal (horse) underdog named Spirit. He saves horses from a life of misery. THAT IS IT. There are many factual errors about horses here. Spirit's actions get oh so boring. Overall, predictable. You can predict every second in Spirit. You know that this whole movie will end in a happy movie.
Pretty much the only thing GOOD about Spirit is the animation. Who could resist the Disney-like animation? Personally, I think that is the only element that draws people in.
I will give this movie a 2/10, **/****.

I am a big fan of horror movies. The Shining was a combination of Horror and Suspense. You always want to try and guess what Jack Torrance's next move will be... And you get surprised. I don't know if it's the music, or the craziness of Jack Torrance, or Wendy getting all panicked and teary eyed, but this movie leaves you on the edge of your seat! You can easily follow Jack Torrance's path to insanity through this movie. Through every line of dialogue, step, or touch. It is the creepiness of this movie that drives viewers crazy. Every line in The Shining was memorable. There are a lot of creative twists in this movie.
The music in The Shining added yet another creepy effect. It is the music here that really helps the creepiness factor of The Shining.
The acting was great! Jack Nicholson was PERFECT for his insane role of Jack Torrance. When I really think about it, he is the only one that could pull it off. Shelly Duvall pulled of her role as a hysterical wife too well, but she could really get annoying in some parts.
Overall, I'd give The Shining a 9/10 for great plot, acting, music.
