I guess i went in to this movie with the wrong frame of reference, since i heard it was a Troma flick (which isn't the case, as it was only distributed by troma) and a lot of people compared it to Deadbeat At Dawn (which could not be further from the truth, being that Deadbeat is the greatest, most action-packed movie of all time).
For me this one is just too extremely slow paced, to the point that you just want to skip forward through the endless scenes of the protagonist walking aimlessly around town. There are some cool flashback scenes and the soundtrack is quite cool, with a lot of Carpenter/Devo-esque bleep-bloop synth sequences and cheesy Roland R-8 drum machine sounds, which lends to the bleak and dreary look of the film. But overall i find the dialogue boring and predictable and the plot moves slower thanmolasses, which makes the first hour a tedious watch.
One of the only redeeming factors for this flick having the cult classic approval it has must be the disturbing ending, which makes watching it worthwile. Quite heavy and gnarly, so kudos for that. Not a bad movie and worth checking out if you are into this stuff, but i still think it's more hype than substance.

Absolute perfect series. Really captures the realness of being strung out on speed. Have to give kudos for also including "makkarunken" in a tv show, that sequence was almost too hard to stomach, but lends itself to giving the show integrity. There is a good sense of humor in the darkness depicted also, which makes it very realistic and disturbing. The editing between 16:9 and 4:3 formats also gives it a sort of "found-footage" social realism vibe, that makes it really creep under your skin. If your a fan of dogme cinematography, early 2000s aesthetics, Gaspar Noe levels of violence and hard drugs and techno, this is a must see. 10/10. Will recommend to everyone and anyone.
