When Jannik Sinner won his first Grand Slam title in Australia in 2024, Italy discovered a new Italian sporting hero (tennis) but they were initially unsure and very curious about this redhead who was more comfortable in German than in Italian. Here was a person who was supposedly Italian but who, as a South Tyrolean, grew up speaking exclusively German, only learnt to speak Italian after the age of 10, and spoke it with a foreign accent. Do we speak German in Italy a majority asked ??
In the first contemporary Italian series about its German speaking region, South Tyrol, the plot weaves a complex murder inquiry which spans five decades, into the historical and contemporary complexity of South Tyrol. It is superb, fantastic, rivetting. The direction and acting is first class, mixing modern South Tyrol, and Italy, with "the way things used to be", along with many side plots.
It was a wonderful watch, with the bonus of a great musical score. An absolutely brilliant find.
Watch it !

I am not from India (but I have watched many Indian films and series) and decided to watch this film out of interest as I was in the mood for a thriller.
Wow, Wow ! Make sure you keep in your mind the first 10 minutes of this film as it will make you fully appreciate the remarkable last 30 minutes.
Having watched it I now understand why this film only rates as 6.5 when, really, it should rate at anything between 9.0 and 10. And it's clear why - once you have watched the film and come back to read the reviews, without giving anything away about the plot, you realize why a certain Indian viewership demographic will vote down this film. Reason ? Because the ones who vote it down are part of the problem exposed so subtly in this film. It's a problem the rest of the World keeps reading about but which still remains a major issue in India.
Do Patti is a masterpiece. Concentrate on WHO DID IT ? And the last 30 minutes will stun you and may even bring you to tears.
Wonderful.

Loved it !
If you enjoyed the famous "Run Lola Run" with Franka Potente then you'll enjoy this one with Emilio Shakraya.
Different actors, of course, different script, different times, but the city is the same : Berlin, and the main man has to get across it meeting all sorts of obstacles in the way in 60 minutes, for the most important fight of his life.
It's epic, It's relentless. It's human. It's poetic.
The Germans sure do love their cross-city epics, and they make them well.
If you want a pure high octane non-stop edge of your seat action, ignore the negative reviews, don't hesitate - book the sofa for the evening and enjoy !
