Guy Ritchie has always been a hit or miss director for me, although what I consider his hits and misses is different from the general consensus. (I liked Aladdin and don't care at all for Lock, Stock...)
Wrath of Man is the first time Ritchie hits and misses in the same movie. The first act is examplary stuff. Gritty, intriguing, a touch of Heat, Statham looking mildly irritated for the most part of his scenes. I'm on board! Then , during the second act, things get complicated, Statham disappears for some time and is replaced by nothing of much interest. The film picks up again twoard the end but by then my interest had waned.
Extra points for the fine supporting cast and some excellent shoot outs. But, come on, would Jason Statham really name his son Dougie?
