Somehow the producers gathered together good actors, a good effects team & scenic designers, and decent cinematographers.
Sadly, the weak plot, contrived scenarios, and overly simplistic & confusing script, does little to tie things together. And it does even less to pull out good performances from actually very good actors.
Even given the year of the release, the effects are good. But, again, given the year, it would expected to have a more polished script that calls to the viewer to follow it on a space adventure--this movie definitely does not do that.
If anyone ever asks for an example of a movie the seems to come from the mind of an 8-year boy that like sci-fi, this is it.

A high possibility that this and the next episode were broadcast in the wrong order, which is reasonable as the series was already cancelled before either was broadcast.
Essentially, this is a clip-show episode, in which flashbacks are shown from each member of the team. The flashbacks show how each Hondo encouraged and supported the members.
The only flashback missing is Deacon, from which we see nothing. Which makes sense from a producer-point-of-view, since Deacon was already part of SWAT as Hondo was building the team in the very first episode from which most flashbacks were pulled--and there were no scenes for producers to pull, and clearly no money was available to film anything specifically for Deacon.
A high possibility that this and the next episode were broadcast in the wrong order, which is reasonable as the series was already cancelled before either was broadcast.

This episode is on par with most of the low action and questionable police practises of SWAT. And some unrealistic aspects...well, that the main gunman is 38 years old, where he looks more like 55 or 60+.
