  • performances exceed the material

Delighted to find this has been picked up by Lifetime Movies and will get the exposure it deserves. Sensitive performances and well-photographed travellogue plus an odd subplot make this a winner. Blethyn in particular is her usual talented self and somehow we even begin to see John Hurt as handsome thru her eyes--no small feat!

  • way above average

I thought this was one of the best Lifetime MadeforTV movies I have seen, principally because of really strong, affecting performances by Bracco, McCarthy, and the always dependable Boutsikaris. I would give it 9 of 10 stars only because the script telegraphs its points a bit and because a woman as successful as the Bracco character seems written to be pretty dumb about some other, domestic/divorce/court matters.

  • Well worth renting: kids will LOVE,& adults can enjoy acting

This is really worthwhile; the Kids I showed it to (Boy,8 & girl,5) LOVED it, even to the extent of asking me to rewind/reshow certain parts. I really enjoyed the acting---lots of famous talent--the score---and the "inside" theatre stuff. Also it kept to its "G" rating without any of the violence or language found in SOOOO many purportedly "kids flix" lately. I've watched it without kids and loved it, too!
