Overall, its a solid adaptation. The movie stayed pretty faithful to the original, and the few changes they made (mostly minor dialogue tweaks) didnt hurt the film and was in fact welcome. The set design, CGI, and characters were all pretty faithful to the original and the CGI was pretty good. Theres just one big problem with it, the acting is horrible. Gerard butler is legitimately the only actor in this movie who actually felt convincing the entire time. Some characters performances were ok sometimes, but most of the time it just felt like i was watching a high school play. Its a step in the right direction for live action adaptations, everything other than the performances was good, but that one thing just made me lose investment in the movie.
Way better than the first movie. This movie does deal with the same basic concept from the first one, but it dials it up to eleven. They actually pulled off some really unique, creative ideas with this one. The plot was way better thought out and didnt have any dumb moments like in the first movie and the comedy was way better. The only downside i can think of is that the plot points were explained a little too quickly and there were a few times i had to rewind just to keep track of what was happening. But even still, it was an exciting ride from start to finish. Massive improvement, way beyond my expectations.
Talk about a letdown. You know, for a movie literally titled "milk" you'd think it would be reasonable to assume it would have, you know, SOMETHING to do with milk? But no, I kid you not, this movie is not about milk in the slightest. I was appalled. I'm pretty sure milk wasn't even shown on screen once in the movie. How disconnected can you get? That would be like if I made a movie called "the incredible adventure of sir George the third" and it was about a guy named Steven fixing roofs. So disappointing. You have made me sad with this movie. You promised me something wonderful, and all I got was... wait, what was this movie actually about again?
