This was a very touching film, especially for such a man as me who was only 4 years old at the 1956 revolution against the communist dictatorship supported by the Soviets. After the conquest of this revolution with the help of Soviets a tragic new dictatorship fell over my fatherland for another 33 years which was full with lying and falsification of history. It was terrible to survive this period. Unfortunately the Western countries did not give any help to overcome the Soviet aggressors, although in their feeling they sympathized with our revolution. This film gives some kind of gratification for all of these sad decades. It clearly shows that the truth and the moral victory was on the side of Hungarian revolutionists. Maybe therefore our present post-communist government is not so pleased with this film because they feel that their predecessors played a very brutal role in our history.

It is a terrible bad film, do not waste your time to disturb you with it. It is without any story, very bad music. At the half of the film I left it, which occurred only second time in my life. The film suggests that the medical doctors are not able to treat any patient and that paramedical therapies are much more useful. It is declared for instance that a patient who would need a liver transplantation could be healed by sex therapy given by Johanna. I can not imagine what could be in the brain of the director. The pictures are also depressing, the whole film is very unpleasant and misses any taste and good human feeling. As a medical doctor I am especially upset with the content of this film.

One of the worst film I have ever seen. It is absolutely impossible to understand what was the purpose of the director. The characters were not well worked out and all of them were very unusual figure who never occur in the real life. I have always waited during the 2 hours that something will turn out, but even at the very last moment of the film I was as confused as the beginning. Maybe the purpose of the film to present how is the mental processes are taking place during a relationship, what is in the innermost of our brain. It was impossible to distinguish between the real situation and that which was only at the subconsious level. I think the American directors should watch more European art film because they should learn quite a lot.
