My fiancé and I sat straight through the DVD version of the series. On one hand, watching so much all at once is exhausting. Every time a DVD came to an end, we thought, should we take a break now? And then went on watching, because we just couldn't tear away.
I loved John Larroquette and Scott Cohen, they did such great jobs! Quotes from the Wolf and the trolls wormed their way quickly into our daily language (Sucking elf!). It's a definite must-see for everyone who loves the genre.
Some of my favourite scenes were in the village with the shepherdess beauty contest. "Sheep" words put to "We will rock you" is the funniest thing ever.

I think this is a great movie for those that enjoy sci-fi. Vin Diesel makes a great anti-hero, the graphics are great without being over the top and seamlessly integrated. Unlike many reviewers here I don't see what was wrong with the timeline at all. And Riddick wasn't turned into a super-human warrior, just a very top-of-the-line human. If they make a sequel, I'll be very glad to see it, I think this franchise has a lot of potential. I also think this movie had some subtleties to be enjoyed by those who like picking apart hints and innuendoes. My only complaint was with the new characterization of Jack, I think straying away from the character as she was in Pitch Black made her less enjoyable and almost seem an extra in the story. The movie already has Thandie Newton to be sexy, they should've let Jack be the tomboy she's supposed to be.
