This film was marketed great, with alot of marketing pushed on Nicolas Cage with a masterful performance and this was meant to be a new smash hit horror/thriller.
Similar to the black phone, it falls completely short in every way. It lacks any horror, suspense, scares. The acting is average at best.
Nicolas Cages role is minimal and he feels more like a supporting actor than the main bad guy.
The story itself was basic, a serial killer needs to be found and somehow the new FBI agent has a knack for knowing his work and behaviour. It's all very predictable in every way and a real let down and disappointing film.
Don't believe the hype and high scores people are giving this. Slow, boring, predictable and gets silly.

The first film was a masterpiece, the second film was decent. This film was just a bit of a money grab. No real story line, no real threat.
At this stage, they've made Denzel into superman and he's fighting against local bad men who don't feel any real threat to him throughout the film. There's more chance of vin diesel getting beat in a fast and furious film than Denzel having a real fight or genuine trouble in this. The story is also all over the place, with unwanted characters and a 2nd story line going on.
Even though both overlap, it just feels like it wasn't needed or substantial enough to add and keep in.
Would skip this in the cinema.

The film looked like it had a good premise, religious/horror feel to it but overall it was too slow, story all over the place and poorly executed. There was no scares in the film, no twists or turns to make it interesting or pull you in. Just a very basic religious film about God & the devil and the fight against good/bad.
This film should have been so much better and kind of feels lost in they wasn't sure what to do here. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, there is just no real importance, action, scare, acting etc for anyone to get anything from this film. Real let down and a waste of 2 hours.
