The Four Feathers 2002 version was a typical effort by Americans to make a movie about the British without doing too much research.
Just a few of the items that annoy me.
British soldiers do not 'shoulder' arms, they 'slope' arms They would never, certainly in Victorian times, have used the term 'We're shipping out' A British officer would CERTAINLY never have dug a grave for a dead soldier (he probably wouldn't have known what the spade was for!) Where the heck did he get that long handled shovel from anyway? That was an American invention. In the game of Rugby, nobody, certainly not gentlemen, ever strikes another player. On the same theme (Rugby). You don't flick the ball out from between your legs, that's once again an American football thing. You 'heel' it out with your foot.
All these items, sand there were many, many more of them, probably seem very pedantic, but they can spoil an otherwise good story.

Great Britain has made some really good movies over the years - comedies especially. Also war movies. BUT! their first venture into musicals, LONDON TOWN, was nothing short of a disaster. The acting was bad, the direction worse and as for the songs!! Diabolical. I class it just below THE ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES in my list of the worst movies of all time.
