I laughed, I cried, I almost peed my pants. A must see!
It's basically a black-and-white slide show with a voice-over... but somehow it impressed me more than all of the high budget special effects films that have come out lately. The little stuffed dog gives an INCREDIBLE acting performance.
I would never have thought I'd want to buy a DVD of a ten-minute movie, but I just bought this one after seeing the short film on cable TV. I guess I liked this movie a lot more than 12 Monkeys, because I just spent fourteen dollars to buy a 10-minute movie, and I wouldn't pay $1.40 per minute for 12 Monkeys!

I expected to love this movie. For a good hour and a half, I was not disappointed. But looking back at it as a whole, I would have to give it only about 7 out of 10.
I loved almost everything up through the title fight. The only exception was the comically stereotypical portrayal of Maggie's family.
I could have handled the melodrama at the end if it had been portrayed more realistically, but instead it came across as manipulative and shallow.
Without exception, though, Hillary Swank is amazing throughout. Her character was a great mix of sweetness and toughness, attitude and humility.

This movie sounded like one I would like, and turned out to be one I *love*.
I found the main characters both believable and surprisingly likable. Movie-makers like to portray the couples in this type of movie as bickering, selfish, loveless bastards who in some way deserved it. These people were nice, funny, and seemed to genuinely *like* each other. Through the whole movie, I wanted so much for them to be okay again. I was not bored at all. I thought the plot was very plausible, the acting was good, and the ending satisfied me although it was not at all what I was expecting. I was particularly happy that some humor was thrown in here and there - in the middle of being all tense and worried, we were able to laugh out loud at some of the conversations.
I gave it ten stars!
