  • By far the best action flick of 90's

i have not seen anything of Rodrigues and Banderas till that movie and this really was a reason to became much more surprised . this is a film you enjoy more than before every time you watch it because every time you pick something of directorial or acting excellence in the film. the moves, the camera work, the fight sequences and acting(which is perhaps the least concerning thing in an action movie, but in this film it is one of the assets of the movie) every thing is just too good. this is, by far the best action of 90's and no wonder that the action sequences of this film are still copied all over the world even after 10 years. A real treat to watch if you like action movies and it tells you that it is not necessary to blow the whole city apart and burn all the cars available in order to make a good action film. what you need a 6*4 inch head with a 4*3 inch brain in it.

  • good film but copied from Hollywood (again)

when i saw the movie for the first time i was really impressed . the acting, the script, the dialog delivery and the overall scenario was nicely made. but a few days ago i saw "THE MIRACLE WORKER" the original and then the TV remake of it and i was shocked. my point is, that you make good movie with good acting and direction but you copy a film scene to scene and character to character. A non compromising handy cap kid, a somewhat enthusiastic teacher with personal limitations, A concerned Mom and a disapproving father. all frame to frame copied from THE MIRACLE WORKER" . My point is, you can take credit of making a good remake, but not for a breathtaking original history making movie. my only star to Sanjay is that he made a good remake of the first half of the film. once the audience is established, then it is easy to run the show. a very good film but unfortunately, not original as always the case with Bollywood. ( as a foot note, if you are a big fan of MUNNA BHAI MBBS, please get a CD of ROBBIN WILLIAMS, "PATCH ADAMS" and you will be amazed that it seems nothing is coming original from Bollywood now a days.

  • The most amazing piece of Acting

i must say that i have seen this movie almost 5 times now and now i am so emotionally distorted as someone can be. i always liked Sean Penn but o boy; this is something different. i am shocked when people say that the acting is like Rain Main or Cramer Vs Cramer. i think people who say this either have not watched those movies or most probably, haven't watch this one. i believe that the portrayal of Sam Dowsan by Sean Penn is easily among the all time best depiction of any character on screen by an actor. he is unbelievably believable and so much touching that you start feeling the limitations that he is facing as Sam Dawson. i feel hurt and disappointed over the decision of Oscar about that film. to me, if Sean Penn is not given an Oscar for this movie, then no body deserve an Oscar ever. it clearly shows that even the most prestigious awards have the touch of partial-ism and bias. a total Sean Penn movie. an all time must see and one of the best ever piece of acting. if you are somewhat emotional, don't watch it alone and its a serious warning.
