I appreciate slap-stick and some of SC's other movies (God of Cookery, Justice my Foot, Hail the Judge, Kung Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer and others) but I just couldn't handle this movie.
I was just too goofy. His transformations, the abusive HS Students, the ugly duckling, the bad hair professor but at least the women looked fine and the QT parody of Pulp Fiction was kinda funny. But overall this movie was a little too strange for me. I may try to watch it again with a few under my belt.
I do like Steph Chow and his band of actors. Maybe all this film was a spring board for greater works.

I do not know how Tom Clancy lost control of the screenplay but playing fast and loose with it made it veer totally against what the book was about. Neo-fascists? Who the heck are they? For entertainment including a 12-page explanation of the nuclear explosion (at the Superbowl with Minnesota and San Diego) not a soccer match between Chicago and Florida as was shown in this movie, read the book. This movie was too PC and illogical for me.
This is a good clean movie; no bad language, no violence and no nudity. Unlike the awful "Home Alone" movies, I like BFL and found myself laughing out loud, in spite of not wanting to see it. Our whole family enjoyed it. This movie is harmless fun only people who are forced to watch it will not like it. They can watch "Rollerball" instead.
