This film was made by the same people who made a film called The Banker. The makers who did these films seem to want to make a different kind of slasher film. A bit of a more high brow killer on the loose, in The Banker it was a psychopath and in this one it is a brother and sister duo who went through some trauma and now they hunt through the party line. It was entertaining for what it was, nothing great, but an enjoyable time nonetheless.
The story has the aforementioned brother/sister hunting adulterers by talking to them on a party line and luring them to their posh estate. It is up to a investigator who has a problem with the DA to solve the case..along with a plucky 16 year old.
It stars Richard Hatch of Battlestar Galactica fame as the detective. Lief Garrett is the brother who is way more disturbed than the sister. You never hear his stuff on the radio ever. Roundtree is in this one too in pretty much the same role he was in The Banker.
So it was not that good, but it was entertaining because it did have some interesting stuff in it. I thought Hatch was pretty good in this, but Forster was better in the Banker in essentially the same role. They could have done more to spice this up, but you can do much, much worse.

No Retreat, No Surrender was a film about a dude who was having trouble fitting in at his new home after his dad got injured by the mob. He learns kungfu from the ghost of Bruce Lee and tackles a Russian martial arts champ at a tournament. The only thing this one has in common with that is a Russian being the big bad at the end. Oh, this one has Max Thayer too; granted, I do not remember him in the first film. This one has Cynthia Rothrock so point to this film! Granted, she kind of feels like a last minute add in...
So the story has a guy visiting an Asian country, at first seemingly to find an old chum (Thayer), but after running afoul of Cynthia he apparently has a fiance. She gets kidnapped so the guy finally finds his buddy and they make plans to rescue her. She has been kidnapped by a dude in a Russian camp. He is pretty tough, he obliterated Cynthia, but he kind of fought her unfair. Cynthia joins the heroes as a helicopter pilot and if she had a better fate I would have given this one a higher score.
The cast is good, as I have never seen the lead but he was pretty good; however, both Rothrock and Thayer are the two more charismatic leads. The lead Russian bad guy is good too, probably most known for his role as the killer alien in the Dolph film, I Come In Peace.
So it was enjoyable for what must of been a low budget action film. Plays more like a Rambo film during the ending scenes than anything found in the first film. Not sure why they tried to tie this one with that one, I guess they felt they needed a hook?

I enjoyed this one when it came out back in the day so when this thing got a remake I snatched it up. It was really good as it was a total remake and not just an HD remaster so while the story remained basically the same; however, the graphics are new, there are a lot of aspects of the game play and a few story changes. It was amazing game back in the day and it still is.
The story kind of revolves around death as in this town a student arrives and finds a strange setting as the city is bathed in a strange green light and there seem to be coffins. At this hidden hour shadows roam the street searching for victims. The new student soon finds himself as part of a team in a dorm of students who battle these shadows and must explore their school which during this dark hour turns into a huge tower. They also must face more powerful shadows during full moons.
The game play is largely the same as before. I do like you can form social links with the female teammates in this one. There is not really too much about the game I was disappointed with. The characters are great and it is fun doing stuff during the day to strengthen bonds and fight at night in the tower.
So this game is incredible as it was before. I like all the upgrades and about my only complaint is they changed the opening song, which is definitely a super minor complaint. So just to conclude if you enjoyed it originally you will enjoy it now and if not it is a crazy game that is super fun if you like JRPG games.
