  • Nice location and leads, that's it.

Another poor script along with some questionable casting, ruined it for me. A few actors and actresses have the skills to transition into scriptwriting, but not all of them. It has too many subplots running. Jessy Schram is a good actress who is under utilized, I especially like her in comedy.

This is the first time I've seen Dominic Sherwood and he did well. Hallmark often uses non-British actors and actresses in roles requiring an English accent (mostly RP) and the accents are generally really bad, Sherwood's accent is authentic. Lords and Ladies in the UK ARE NOT ROYALS, they are peers which are below the royals. Writers need to do research, that's part of the job of writing a script.

Filmed in Winnipeg which is a nice location, but it's not NYC. Another recent Hallmark film, "The Snow Must Go On" was also filmed in Winnipeg and is a much better movie.

  • A waste of money and good actors.

I'm not a fan of Great American films and this one didn't change my mind. It suffers from what brings down most movies, it has a rubbish script. I like Trevor Donovan and Jill Walker and I've seen them in many movies, but this one is a flop. It's glacially slow with inane dialog and frankly it's boring.

There are good writers in the US who can write decent scripts including dialog, why Great American doesn't hire them I don't know. There have been so many good movies with "Inn" in their title, but not this one. I have no problem with the actors and filming locations, it just needed a decent script and director.

  • It's been done before, but it was enjoyable.

This movie wasn't the typical Hallmark, Great America, Reel One, Nicely, UP...holiday romance. Their usual formula focuses on a single young woman with some business or other boring entrepreneurial job who is trying to get ahead. This movie focused on a young man who is between jobs and maybe careers.

Corey Cott the lead, is a drama school trained actor with real Broadway acting experience, he's more qualified than the average holiday movie actor. He plays Isaiah Heyward, an unemployed NYC theatre actor who is asked to save the local high school Christmas play. Being a theatre actor is not the same as being a high school drama teacher and it was fun to watch him trying to bridge the two. The plot was predictable, but the film was still enjoyable.

The kids were very talented and the rest of the cast was good. Corey Cott made this a success. One of the better holiday films in 2025.
