I made the terrible mistake of watching this film even though I had bad experience watching previous Madea films, but I guess It's been a while so I might've thought it could get better, it didn't. The only nice thing is the settings in the Bahamas, other than that it hopeless. Bad script, bad acting, bad everything. There is no funny scenes at all, it was such a painful experience to go through the entire film. I really felt bad for the actors. It feels it was made for kids not grown ups. I honestly don't understand how such movies are allowed to be made, it feels like some kind of punishment, please stop making them Tyler Perry.
I don't want to get into any details about the story, which is very lame anyway. My main concern is the amount of agony I felt watching this, it felt like it was a way to torture the audience, can't find any other way to explain it. Brandy is no actress, and Kathryn Hunter, I can't find the words to explain her, I thought she was great in The Tragedy of Macbeth, but in this film hearing her voice, over and over was a painful experience, at one point I felt that this was some kind of a joke, no way this is how they wanted her to play the character, it's so weird and off-putting. Honestly I feel so bad after watching this, I wish I could erase it from my memory, but thankfully it will fade on its own soon enough.
Honestly I felt that I had a duty to warn people about this film, I did the mistake of watching it for Emile Hirsch, but sadly he is no different than so many stars who agreed to do low grade movies.
