  • superman flies again

I just left the cinema and I am overwhelmed with fresh impressions that I can't wait to share.

First of all, I would like to note the stunning visual component: the special effects are amazing, the large-scale battles are breathtaking, and the familiar picture of the destruction of a large city is presented on a completely new level. The cast also deserves the highest marks. David Corenswet, a new face for me, perfectly embodied the image of Superman, as if this role was created for him. Nicholas Hoult also did an excellent job.

However, unfortunately, not everything is so rosy. The plot turned out to be overly overloaded and difficult to understand, it contains many logical inconsistencies and gaps. In addition, the film lacks drama: an excess of humorous scenes reduces the degree of tension and prevents you from empathizing with the characters. If the authors had reduced the number of jokes and made the script more understandable, then they would have turned out a real masterpiece.

Overall, the film left behind mixed feelings. On the one hand, it is a visually stunning spectacle that is worth seeing on the big screen. On the other hand, the crumpled plot and lack of depth do not allow you to fully enjoy the potential of this story.

I would like to dwell on the musical accompaniment separately. The soundtrack to the film perfectly complements what is happening on the screen, creating the right atmosphere and emphasizing emotional moments. The musical themes accompanying the key characters are memorable and add individuality to them.

Despite the shortcomings in the plot, the film is still able to captivate the viewer for two hours. Dynamic scenes, vivid characters and impressive special effects do not let you get bored. However, after watching it, you are left with the feeling that it could have been done much better.

In the end, "Superman" is a blockbuster that lives up to expectations in terms of entertainment, but does not claim to be a masterpiece. This movie is for those who just want to relax and enjoy a beautiful picture, without thinking about the deep meaning.

I recommend going to the cinema to form your own opinion. You might be luckier and appreciate the film despite its flaws. Either way, it's an interesting experience worth discussing with friends afterward.

  • Scandinavian folklore

It's been a while since I've watched a horror movie, but today I decided to fill the gap, because it's rare to find a film that takes you back to such an early era. The action takes place in 1860 in an Icelandic fishing village lost in the ice. The nearest settlement is a three-day journey through snow-capped mountains, a real hell. The landscapes, especially the bay, emphasize the isolation of this place. Add to this the mystical folklore inspired by Scandinavian mythology and the eternal theme of lack of resources - and you get an eerie, disturbing atmosphere. From the first minutes, you feel how isolation, ominous tales around the campfire and the shadow of death weigh on the characters. The situation is fragile, as if ready to collapse at any moment. The film impressed with the choice of place and time, stunning scenery, impeccable camera work and acting. The plot keeps you in suspense until the end, although the ending seemed a little overloaded. A solid eight!

  • Wallace and Gromit 30 Years Later

I remember when I was six years old, on New Year's Eve I saw my first short film: Wallace and Grommit "Big Day Out". It was a real revelation for me - never before had I seen such magnificent clay animation. Years later, I immersed myself in this world again, finding the subsequent parts on the Internet, and since then I have become a devoted fan of Nick Park - the creator of five parts about the adventures of Wallace and Grommit, as well as the legendary "Chicken Run". And now, finally, a new film has appeared on the screen: Wallace and Grommit "The Savage Vengeance", which I have been waiting for 17 years! The last short film was released in 2008, and now, oh my god, I was delighted - it was like returning to childhood again. It is wonderful that the directors have preserved the old methods of clay animation, slightly improving the graphics, but generally leaving everything as before. The plot is fascinating, and there are references to "The Wrong Trousers" from 1993. In fact, this is a continuation of that story. Now I will try to express my thoughts without spoilers. It is pleasing that there are many references to good old English traditions: breakfast with tea, toast with jam, creaky chairs, old houses, green lawns. We see classic England, where the latest technology merges with the usual way of life. Gnomes-robots appear on the stage, doing all the housework. The plot is exciting, it is interesting how old techniques are intertwined with the theme of technological progress, raising important questions about the possible uprising of machines. The risk of excessive passion for technology is shown - how it can harm the planet and lead to conflict with humanity. The creators masterfully implemented this technique in the cartoon, and they did it brilliantly. Each frame is imbued with a spirit of originality, sharpening the viewer's attention to issues that are becoming increasingly relevant in our world. I recommend watching it to all fans of Nick Park!
