I thought this was a very well done, though very low budget, movie. Scott Baio surprised me with his acting talent. He was serious, moody and passionate - about bread. Though I liked the romantic story line of the film I did not think it showed as much passion as it should have. Having said that, the film is still a very good and moving love story. The story lines following the brothers and the elderly ethnic couple were very touching. I would recommend this to any romantic at heart.

The rental box compared it to Moonstruck and Big Fat Greek Wedding. Besides the ethnic aspect I don't think that offers much of a comparison. This film was much deeper and dealt with more serious subjects than those two comedies did.

I ran across this at the video store and I hadn't seen it for almost 15 years. It is still just as heartwarming and loveable as it was when I was young. The little girl is so sweet it's hard not to fall in love with her, like the robbers eventually did. I'm going to search to add a copy of this to my library, but until I do, at least I'll know that life is perfect when Savannah smiles.

Though based on an Anne Rice erotica novel, the script was a little silly. But it works really well with the comedic flare that Rosie brings to the movie. I happen to think that Paul Mercurio is fabulous (if you haven't seen it, see Strictly Ballroom) though this movie showcases his skin more than his acting talent. One of the things I like best about this movie is that it plays on a lot of the sexual stereotypes and sore subjects that exist in our society while still being fun, entertaining and fairly lighthearted. A great comedy with a very sexy side to it.
