All in a good way!!! Could they have gone even father w the premise? Absolutely! What is on screen is good enough entertainment to keep you on the edge of your seat! Many wtf moments are the best part of this film. Gloriously enough this film does not take itself too serious and therefore it's out of f&$cks to give which is the beauty of it. So if you get queasy over silly things, this movie is not for you. The premise is original like Substance and for that horror fans will be rewarded w much joy in this twisted twisted tale of becoming one!
This new Superman is all comic book. And if that's the Superman u you like, you'll enjoy this one a lot. Growing up w black & white Superman, then Christopher Reeves 1978 (part 1&2 to be exact) gave me the perfect Superman for my Generation X. Even Henry Cavill. Now, even tho i absolutely loved David in Ryan Murphy's "Hollywood" for my taste this Superman (David) seemed a bit on the young side or maybe missing something i can't put my finger on that made Cavill and Reeve memorable. It's either that or he was missing the kind of presence Reeves and Cavill brought to the character. It's like he could have been a young Superman of them both during Smallville. I did not feel he filled the shoes of both Reeves or Cavil, in terms of what we've been used to since 1978, even tho David delivered a very kind of solid performance. The dog by the way, absolutely steals the show. But besides that, it was entertaining, not the type of Superman i'm used to, but it seems to have that fantasy Style of the director. Which wasn't quite my style but i can see young audiences rooting for this new Superman as they should. Also, for my taste, this Superman was a bit more -Silly- is the word press is using. The Reeve's, Cavill superman are a very grown up version. All in all very enjoyable movie - i'm glad i saw it- and glad to see a new itinerartion of Superman being offered for a new generation.
This film was an unexpected delight. You just don't know where it's taking you until you get there. It may seem to have the trimmings of many movies done before, but then stuff starts to happen and you are wondering... what just happened?
The kills you may have seen before, but this one is a fresh take on the slasher film. You never know what you are going into w a horror - you are always hoping for something fresh! But nowadays some trailers just go too far giving it all away. Go to see this movie with not too many preconceived notions and it will pleasantly surprise you. I specially liked where the relationships headed towards the end - a real twist for these kind of movies.
