In anticipation of The Naked Gun (2025) coming out next month, I decided to binge through the Naked Gun franchise and that journey starts off with Police Squad! (1982), the one season show with 6-episodes from 1982, and this show was a treat for me to watch as it was awesome.
Positives for Police Squad! (1982): First off, you have to give credit to the Zucker Brothers for this show and its brilliant comedy as this is some of the best comedy I've seen in a long time and this show came out in 1982. You have a great cast here with Leslie Nielsen as Detective Frank Drebin, Alan North as Captain Ed Hocken, Peter Lupus as Officer Norberg, Ed Williams as Ted Olson, William Duell as Johnny the Snitch and Ronald Taylor as Al. The mysteries and crimes are so ridiculous and outrageous that they are just so hilarious to watch. I like how everyone in the cast plays their role straight and it the situations they're even funnier. The action sequences are awesome with great comedic timing that makes them even better. And finally, this show has great pacing with the episodes and there are only 6 episodes in this one season which is a good thing for me.
Overall, Police Squad! (1982) is one of the funniest and most brilliant comedy shows I've watched in a long time and while it does suck that this show was cancelled before it could take off, that doesn't how awesome and hilarious this show is nowadays.

As a kid, I used to watch episodes of Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (1989-1990) on Toon Disney and I got a lot of enjoyment from that old show and the characters. Years later, I saw this movie online and I thought it looked really stupid, but the movie was actually good and one of the better live-action movies from Disney. I just got done rewatching the movie for this review and it was even better this time around then when I watched it back in 2022.
Positives for Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022): This movie is basically Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) except it is updated for a modern audience and a unique spin on the story. I liked the origin story of seeing Chip and Dale meeting each other in High School and how they became best friends, then we are shown how these two had a falling out before their show was cancelled and what they've been on to in modern day. You have a lot of older cartoon characters show up time on time and you Ben have Ugly Sonic show up where he gets a bit of a redemption arc for his character after the Internet raged out on him. You have a great cast with John Mulaney as Chip and Andy Samberg as Dale where they start off the investigation being a little unsure of one another after what, but they start to rekindle their old friendship as they are trying to save one of their old co-stars from the villain. Speaking of that, Will Arnett was awesome as Sweet Pete and I like we get to see him as Peter Pan and what happened to him when he got old which led to him kidnapping the cartoon characters and turning them into these horrendous looking bootleg versions of themselves who are forced to make crappy movies. The police characters with J. K. Simmons as Captain S. Putty and KiKi Layne as Ellie Steckler were a lot of fun to watch and their placement in the sorry really helps. The meta humor is constantly on point with every moment and it brought a big smile to my face. You get a lot of awesome action sequences that are so energetic and well shot that it has me excited for the next one. And finally, this movie has a lot of emotional with Chip and Dale that made me feel something for them both as an adult and the kid inside of me who loved the old animated show.
Overall, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022) is a perfect modern day update to these awesome characters while also staying true to what made everyone loved them from the old animated show.

Palm Springs (2020) is a science fiction romantic comedy movie produced by Lonely Island and this was a first time watch for me. Now this is a movie that I have heard people talk about since it came out in 2020, so I finally gave the movie a watch and it is just as good as everyone has says it is.
Positives for Palm Springs (2020): In a time where were seem to get a lot of the same romantic comedy movies with little to no effort put into them, this is one of the most unique and fresh takes on a romantic comedy movie. It helps that the two leads played by Andy Samberg and Cristin Milioti are awesome and they have great chemistry with each other. The movie starts off with these two being crappy people with their own problems, they meet at a wedding, have sex and now they are in a time-loop scenario and they need to do to stop the day from repeating itself while also trying to find themselves. This is a great setup for our two leads as they get to spend a lot of time with each other and they do hilarious stuff while trying to get out of the time-loop. You also have a fantastic supporting cast here with Peter Gallagher, Camilla Mendes, Tyler Hoechlin and J. K. Simmons who was easily the standout in the supporting cast. The movie does a great job at balancing the comedy and science fiction elements while also being this feel-good story with these two people owning up to their mistakes and becoming better people by the end of the movie. And finally, I loved the ending of the movie where our leads have changed as people during their constant time-loop and it makes you feel so happy to see them out of the time-loop and into a new day of their lives together.
Overall, Palm Springs (2020) is a wonderful and comforting romantic comedy movie with everything that people love about this subgenre and more. If you are one of those people like me, who didn't watch this movie back in 2020, then you need to watch this movie because it is one of the best and most underrated movies of the 2020s thus far.
