I never saw Wicked on stage, but I heard a lot about it. This version with Cynthia Ervio as Elphaba gives the tale a whole new flavor. She is brilliant in the role. Watching it I really had to pinch myself because I couldn't believe what I was seeing. This will become a timeless movie with so many great scenes. The music was fabulous. I enjoyed every minute.
Can't say I'm much for horror movies but if I'm going to watch one this would be it. Love the set up and yes for Black people this is definitely horror. The cast is interesting, and the story is familiar but unique in that it spins a simple tale of black people in white spaces into a great and horrifying movie. I enjoyed it.
I loved Bosch and I was hoping this would be just as good as this character was introduced there. It really started out slow but by the end it found some footing. The characters were not as well drawn as I'd hoped they'd be. Ballard isn't as interesting a character as Bosch. Samira is a much more intriguing character than Ballard. I connected with her story. The twist at the end of the season gave the overall story a little more weight but the set up could've been better.
