Worst Christmas movie I have ever seen. The writers must have been miserable when they wrote this because other than the grandmother and ex girlfriend there is not a single likeable character. Be prepared for a mama's boy, his angry girlfriend (who is also a thief), his bratty sister, his overbearing, insulting mom, and a psychotic neighbor. Seriously, I realize that Hallmark Christmas movies are junk food for the soul but I enjoy getting caught up in the sentiments of the season as much as the next person. The problem here is that the characters are bad people who are no fun to watch. Do yourself a favor and skip this awful mess.
Murder Mystery seem to be getting largely panned by the critics. And while I see some of the points they are making - nothing new here, formulaic, thin on plot, I enjoyed it. At the end of the day, Sandler and Aniston are both brilliant comedic actors and they were fun to watch in this. My husband and I both laughed throughout and we are generally very hard to please when it comes to comedy. We are solid movie goers and love great, high concept cinematic masterpieces as much as any critic out there. This is not that, but it doesn't need to be. It was a very funny Friday night diversion. And no one should underestimate how hard it is to make comedy look easy. Kudos to Sandler and Aniston.
