  • One of my favorites

This is one of the first Charlie Chaplin films I ever watched, and still holds as one of my favorites. This is a film you have to watch very closely to appreciate. While there is plenty of the signature slapstick comedy you would expect to see in a Chaplin film, there are many more funny scenes that happen quickly through gestures and facial expressions. To fully experience the hilarity this film offers, you first have to fully understand what is going on, and to remember that the people in the audience are in the wealthy upper-class.

  • Decent flick, weak plot, suspenseful..

The story of the film combines the traditional "aliens visiting planet earth" story-line with a theme overlooked in other films, crop circles. I was disappointed in the lack of information revealed in the movie's theme. It may have perhaps been the writer's intention to have the viewers' experience the happenings from a rural farmer's family perspective, but nonetheless, the "realism" aspect of the story was hard to grasp, mostly because of the lack of revealing the reactions from people on a wider scale. To me, story-line was weak, and it seemed to me the crop circles were the least touched-upon element of the movie. However, the movie did a good job of grabbing your attention and keeping the suspense going, with many scenes that may make you jump. The movie is still worth seeing, but it may come as somewhat of a disappointment for a film starring Mel Gibson.

  • An excellent followup to episode 1 and introduction to episode 3!

The second episode brilliantly starts to piece together the beloved episodes 4, 5 and 6. The special effects no longer seem native in this film - everything fits and doesn't seem to distract as it may have in Episode 1. Jar Jar Binks made a respectable reappearance that is sure to give the character more respect than in Episode 1.

Hayden Christensen does a fantastic job in portraying older Anakin Skywalker, and being able to seamlessly relate the similarities to Anakin's boy-hood traits, played by Jake Lloyd in Episode 1.

The movie holds many surprises and is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. George Lucas has truly finished another masterpiece that should easily gain acceptance and respect to Star Wars fans, despite the order the six episodes have been released, and the technological changes since then.

Without revealing any more, see the movie. It will certainly take the crown for one of the best movies of 2002.
