A simple telling of the J K Rowling story propbably made for a US audience.
The accents are just weird and acting quite poor. Joanne Rowling does not have a "posh" accent, nor does she have the aussie twang the actress who plays keeps wavering between..
Ridiculous school uniform, nothing like most state schools would have in primary school and again at the state school she taught at.
We dont "graduate" from secondary school only university in the UK, so why the graduation cake etc. May have been a little celebration but no "graduation"
Mention of atorneys.instead of lawyers.
The magical scenes were pleasant but spoiled by the awful acting.

I thought the film was over then discovered it still had another half an hour to go!!!
Just boring, not funny not even a good at delivering a moral message . Just dull dull dull
I have seen the stage show twice many years ago and have always loved the music. I saw this film on a tiny television so thought that was why I didn't really enjoy it. However I recently saw the live broadcast of the 25th anniversary performance from the Royal Albert Hall at my local cinema. The performances of Ramon Karimaloo and Sierra Boggess were absolutely stunning and came away with my love for this musical reignited. So last night I noted the film was on TV. This time I watched it on a decent television with surround sound system and again I was so disappointed with the lack lustre performances and the weak voices.
