If you leave out the starting few minutes where it looks a little predictable the movie is a thorough entertainer. Annu Kapoor is magic. Everytime he comes on screen he takes the performance to another level and makes some of the scenes he is in stellar. Rajpal Yadav is too witty to miss. He is such a comic giant and has to be appreciated for the joy he brings to the audiences. Paresh Rawal is stoic and extremely well suited for his role. Vijay Raaz adds flavour to this comedy drama. Ananya Panday is decent and would not make a difference if there was another actress in her role. But the star of the show is Ayushmann Khurrana. His ability to switch between being a male and female with elan gives you a movie which can go into the comedy collectibles. Raaj Shandilya's direction is superb. This is a total entertainer and a must watch. Don't miss this one!
Watched Hotel and it did have some ahead of the time plot. Rakesh Roshan and Ranjeet have the more important roles in the movie. Navin Nischol does support them ably. Mahmood does a cameo with comedy which is quite funny. Bindiya Goswami and Prema Narayan have pivotal roles and have acted well. The horror treatment is good as it does ease in to the plot to eventually unfold in a more interesting manner. There are some unusual situations that come up in this movie which are not often seen in Bollywood movies. For 1981 this is a great experiment by the Ramsay brothers. One which doesn't disappoint the audience. A good movie which is a one time watch.
The movie has a young Rajni at his best... The plot is simply magnificent with Rajni and Y Gee Mahendran going after a Swamiji who is a fake and successfully unravel the scandal.. The film was one which had the beautiful Rati Agnihotri as the heroine who was also in her elements..The song Ponn Oviyam was an instant hit with Ilayarajaa making a classic... The settings and the music along with the cinematography was excellent. Considering it was 1981 the plot was something brilliant and is worth watching.. Its a must see for all Rajni fans and prospective fans... Rajni though not a superstar then did a magnificent job in making the movie an instant hit. Just the man for the job. Another Rajni Special.
