The original releases were wonderful to see. The theatrical releases of the extended edition of the films were also fine. But the special fuller extended editions of all three films are what should have been released in theaters. Over the past three days I have enjoyed them on HBOMax in my own home. The Return of the King clocks in at a whopping 4:23 minutes! And still I was wanting more. The director made excellent decisions in order to bring the films to market for the majority of folks. But these fuller extended editions will be the only I'll watch them from now on. There are those who still complain that Tom Bombadil and the Scouring of the Shire were left out, but I am simply amazed by the quality of the films in the fuller extended edition and will always be grateful to the Professor and Peter Jackson.
I found this series quite by accident. It has been a joy from the very first episode. I knew nothing about las Islas Canarias-now they are definitely on my list to visit. The scripts are intriguing, the acting impeccable. Candela and Diaz are tops. Hate to see this series end. Well done. Thank you!
I went to see Memoria yesterday here in Medellín, Colombia. Tilda Swinton has always fascinated me in her films. I should have been suspicious with the director . . . But I wanted to support Colombian films. Big mistake . . . This was the worst water-torture I have ever experienced. I hope Tilda enjoyed her time in Colombia . . . She certainly had very little work to do and must have laughed all the way to the bank. My Colombian companion toughed it out for all but the last five minutes when he said, "I'll meet you in the lobby!" and left. I should have joined him.
