  • Mind blowing tunes from RD

Don't remember anything from my 1987 memories that would include this movie. No posters, radio publicity, or music promos. Was it released in selected outlets ? The story is very similar to Zameen Asman with Rekha playing the woman who develops maternal feelings for her ex's son. Probably this is why this movie had not takers.

Silly lines like the ones mentioned in the message boards do not help in making the movie engrossing either.

The plot is actually a combinations of sub plots taken from other Ramesh Behl movies like Kasme Vaade (errant young man + understanding elder), Jawani Diwani (son is a gunda and does hungama in college) as well as other subjects shown in movies like Zameen Asman where the other woman develops maternal feelings for the hero's son.

What drew to me to the movie however was mind blowing numbers from Pancham. "Tune kiya kya jadoo", "Idhar bhi tu" are treasures.

  • not fit for big screen

    Very poor marketing strategy.

While every effort at intelligent cinema should be encouraged, this effort was like going up the wrong tree.

Every movie maker need to know their audience. In particular for a picture with an unconventional theme as this.

The sad reality is even in 2002 this kind of movie is not appealing to the masses.

A movie can this could have made a great TV serial.

The subject is itself not new. I remember seeing a similar movie 25 years ago starring Victor Bannerjee, Sharmila Tagore and Shabana Azmi.
