When I watched the trailer, I thought that it will be the typical movie about a robot with a glitch turning crazy, and if that would be the case, I wouldn't mind at all and I'd enjoy totally the experience, but this film turned to be so much more, far superior from my initial expectations, with many surprises, twists and turns that immediately the movie is already one of my favorites, and with a doubt one of the best in its particular type of movies. Therefore, if you find interesting the premise, you'll love the intense development of this great jewel in its field, becoming something to put attention.
I loved to watch this hilarious and ingenious episode! I love that the creative team wasn't afraid of choosing Howard the Duck, along with Darcy, to be the main characters of this story. I am fan of Howard the Duck, the comic books, but also the infamous live-action movie that I went to theater as a kid and at that moment I didn't realize of the problems of script or acting, I was just amazed of the animatronic suit, easily a decade before of the suits made for live-action TMNT, and the villain was really shocking for a kid. Getting back to this brilliant funny episode, it's a clever sequel of the party Thor episode where it's wonderful how it's exploded to the fullest the cosmic villains of the Marvel Universe.
This is a great Jack Black movie, he's fun and he steals totally the show here but certainly the main kid does a great job, actually the whole cast does it quite good. It's a hilarious premise that it's evolving in a fun pace just like an 80's flick keeping a very enjoyable story presenting a quite entertaining Christmas film with a twist that without a question Jack Black was the perfect choice for the lead character. Even when you think that you won't be surprised no more, you still plenty of twists and punchlines to enjoy this really unique xmas movie. If you like Jack Black, you'll love this movie.
