I saw this movie years ago, and I revisit it in my mind every so often. I love it. The movie is well directed with it being greater in whole than its individual parts.
I remember reading the eye of the world for the first time almost 23 years ago, and with each new book release (years apart), I re-read the previous books to catch myself up. So I am well acquainted with the books.
That being said, I enjoy this show. I am 3 episodes into it. I think the production values are little SyFy for me and I would appreciate a little less CGI. Game of thrones did it better, but I think the story is largely true to the books.
For a story this important, it's incredibly hard to satisfy everyone. Now that I gave the show a chance, I honestly think that the reviews on here talking about it being "woke" are a bit racist. The cast has some color, and they are good. You should watch it, and see what you think for yourself.

I'm fairly progressiv, or at least moderate. I watched a single episode with my spouse hoping that it would fill in some missing pieces that we haven't learned. It was super biased about the need for progressive policies to support retirement. It didn't actually teach us anything about retirement. I don't recommend.
