The relationship between Naomi Watts and Apollo is just perfect and stands all by itself. The intimacy of the writer and the dog flows and feels emphatic. You can feel warmth and confusion. She, by the way, is, as usual, a great actress.

But when the movie approaches the life of the dead friend, shortly played by Bill Murray, as well as the other characters, nothing seems coherent.

Three wives, a daughter, not a hint on why the main character committed suicide if he was apparently so much loved, no fluid dialogues... It ends up being messy and with a chaotic storytelling. What a pity. Neither Naomi nor Apollo deserved that.

Not a single reference to writers (just a game in the middle of the movie, something not really related to writers), neither poetic words or deep meaning in life. It is supposedly a movie about writers and a man (all the movie is centered in him) who is not, just a boyfriend of a young writer, and works in the financial world. The absurd of the story is that he gets bored of a young writer to fall in love with a experienced writer. And no smart words are in between.

The country and background of Morocco is beautiful and that´s it. Sorry to say it, but such good actors give nothing than a lame performance due to the poor script.
