My god this series is very slow and drawn out. The acting and dialogue is weak and I was expecting so much more with Eric Bana and Sam Neill. It started out interesting and I thought oh this is going to be good well it isn't and just plods along at a very slow place which actually makes one feel quite sleepy.
There is very little intrigue or suspense to the story plot and because of it's very slow pace you just don't care anymore. All the characters lack that certain something to make themselves stand out in any scene. (Except the horses)
I am giving this series two stars one for the beautiful horses and one for the scenery but unfortunately those two alone cannot save this slow uninteresting new series.
The first episode draws you into what becomes a slog fest.

I feel that this series would have been better if it was 6 episodes and not the 9 that it is.
There are many meandering unnecessary moments along with the unnecessary constant swearing that were not in context with the conversation. I don't mind swearing if in context but just general angry conversation it becomes a substitute for good writing.
This series would have been better if the plot and punchlines so to speak were more direct and in your face rather than subtle meandering episode to episode where the plot just kind of weakens itself because of it's slow pace which ultimately makes the thrill intrigue factor feel diluted in it's final two episodes.

This series so far is quite laborious to watch. I'm finishing the first episode and it is like so heavy thick and lacking in any kind of intriguing interesting dialogue.
The set is dark and gloomy all the cast are monosyllabic and moody. It is like wading through thick treacle and really makes you feel quite sleepy watching it. You really just want something to peak your interest in order to stop you dozing off.
It is not suspenseful or intriguing just tiresome scene after scene.
I do not recommend this series unless you want a cure for insomnia and like your programmes to be swamped in a dull mist of uninteresting gloom and heavy boring monosyllabic dialogue.
