A young Anna who would later play in shogun. I had seen yuto in iwgp and a few other movies he is so unique and brave as an actor he's an experience I look forward to watching. Justin longs role he must have been trying to break into something else. The role that captivates you is Rodney as many other reviews say and are absolutely right he was magnetic. He actually deserves a spinoff and I guarantee would work. So much emotion and brilliance he won a well deserved bafta. He's played different roles since then and he was good I especially enjoyed his roles in white lotus and the movie with Kieran kulkin and he was tour guide which shows his wide range. I hope he goes back into a character like Rodney because there is such a story only he can tell. He was absolutely brilliant. I do love the yakuza genre takehiro hito also did a good job he's good in anything. I think maybe the editing failed this cast because acting was top tier but the pacing and editing kind of dulled its strong start and courageous acting.
The action starts right away and only gets better. Story moves along well and has many great action sequences. Sony Chiba was an exception villain. Could have done better to give him more screen time but did get just enough of him. About 2/3rds into the movie an 80s rock song starts playing out of nowhere amd didn't know how to feel at first because it gave the movie a new vibe but it was awesome gave the movie and heroes an even better vibe like fight scenes from blood sport or other cult 80s classics. The movies conclusion was beautifully executed both with the fighting acting and ending. It was a great watch I highly recommend and will add to my samurai dvd collection of classics.
