Vadakkan refers to collection Malayalam ballads that showcases bravery, valour. But the movie is everything else apart from the above mentioned.

The makers try to do something new with a blend of existing works on pov recording, paranormal investigation of video footages, demonic possession, freeing spirits and trying to counter the supernatural. But they end up adding more ingredients and making something bland.

First half is very slow paced and the choppy editing and camera work make it more cumbersome to watch.

Second half beginning seems to promise a nice climax but after a few mins ends up being disgusting. A brief references to Theyyam culture is there but the choice of plot and situation is bad taste. They fail to make a authentic presentation of Theyyam culture with the choice of plot. Vadakkan is a story of lust .

The movies highlights human psychology when they're attached to something and how they react when it's taken away.

Yogi Babu does a good job and kudos to the director for making the movie a engaging watch. The Characters step into the roles effortlessly and seem natural.

Overall the movie is about human emotions and stresses on the importance of being good and staying positive and reacting to opportunity.

The pace of the movie seems bit slow but the comical timing of Yogi Babu and good songs make it a engaging watch. It's a family entertained with no masala or mass fights. Worth a watch!!!!

Sci fi movie which shows if there's a desire to achieve something, humans have a incredible will power and never stop until it's achieved. In the journey to achieve they're ready to forgo the things they love sacrifice comforts and do anything and everything until they reach the destination. Kudos to Raghavendra for engaging screenplay which keeps the viewers hooked and not to forget his acting skills. He slips into the character and is at ease, looks natural on screen. Ashika Ranganath portrays a person on a mission to accomplish something and does it well. At some places she reveals the human side to desire some comforts but when the thoughts of accomplishment takes over she quickly changes her priorities. Praveen Tej is brilliantly manges his roles and gives a spotless performance . The main characters are well supported by Punith and Praveen Belavadi does his usual job of being a bad sadistic guy but in the end he's awed by the truth and accepts it. A must watch movie for all those content oriented people who love pure story based movies.
