I loved this Series. I am a 73 year old Female and I have loved the genres not usually attributed to someone of my age and have to admit that yes, from it's beginnings on TV, I have watched every Season of Dr Who from the time I was just into my teens. I have loved everything about all the fantastical happenings and am looking forward to Season 3. Oh, wait though. After checking google to make sure this wasn't just another Story that would never end and I read that yes, Prime were going ahead with a season 3. Just this week, last week of May 2025, there was an Article stating that after all, Prime was not going ahead with Season 3, so yet again after paying a Subscription each month to wind down at the end of a hard day, made worse with decades and decades of operations, health problems and constant pain, I was disappointed yet again even after making certain (I thought), that I would be able to see this Series through to the end - yet again - that was NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, AGAIN.
I will start this review with this disclaimer: I detest all religions, I have never practiced any religion. Although (I was born in 1951) as the last in a family of 7 children I was brought up with only a smattering of religion, going to Girls Brigade as a young Girl, being sent to Sunday School, which was the least in those days and my own Children have only been in a Church except for a Wedding or a funeral. If this totally amazing Movie is based on the Truth of God/Jesus then "I take's my hat off to Mel Gibson" for this totally amazing, incredible, horrifying, scandalous, terrifying, tear jerking betrayal by one (Judas) and the lengths a particular Race/Religion has made me think twice and see them in a much more true light for what they were which was nothing but vile, bigots and inhumane murderers. The brutality and horror of this movie would have to be the worst I have ever seen portrayed on screen. I don't believe any other Man other than Jim Caviezel could have played Jesus and the fact that he learnt the Aramaic language so that the Movie could be as authentic as possible. Jim Caviezel is an extremely Christian Man and even in any Movies he's ever played in he has always refused to partake in anything with any sexually explicit parts or even kissing any females. I have to say that this Movie totally moved me in a way I hadn't thought was possible and has been an eye opener about those who follow the religion who were his accusers. Jim Caviezel played the part to the highest possible standards and was truly believable. I would have to say that this would be the most powerful Movie I've ever watched made even more amazing because of the fact that I have no time for religion or religious people. Absolute kudos to Mel Gibson for this film and for having Jim as Jesus and keeping it as true as possible.
What a really great TV Series. I loved it. I loved the fact that so much "truth of WWII was portrayed" and we should never forget the atrocities carried out by the Nazis. The casting of Aria Loberti as a "first time ever" was fantastic and what an Actress. She portrayed everything to perfection and it was hard to believe that she was legally blind she was that good. Her interactions with Mark Ruffalo were wonderful and it was obvious that they both had a great affection for each other. Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie were wonderful, although their accents detracted at times but otherwise two great older actors doing a fantastic job. All of the cast were wonderful and young Louis Hoffman playing Werner was a great mix with Aria Loberti. The performance, the scenes, all Actors made for a powerful Series.
