I had never heard of any of these names attached to this film, but I am glad I gave this film a shot. This film by no means is the greatest film by unknown faces and has its own share of problems all the way.
Firstly the pacing at the beginning is a bit of a problem. The director was having too much fun building this world. But was compensated with amazing frame and beautiful music. The cinematography was exceptional, but I don't know why some scenes were made too dark.
Another aspect of the film I have mixed feelings about is the integration of social themes. The film touches upon a lot, but doesn't really go deep with any theme except for strong comment on the perception of women having the right to defend themselves.
Now coming to the good, besides the cinematography and music, the performances in this film are very good. They're subtle and well executed. I loved how the dance was integrated in the film was used to establish the character The artist decision in this film were great and out of the box.
I don't this film would be for everyone. I think this is for a niche audience or for arthouse and slow burn lovers. Because the world building does take time but once you're in it, you will go all the way. I'd give it a 7.5 rating but since it's not an option, I will be generous and make it 8.
