Dragoneyed363's rating
Wow, don't judge this one by its rating folks. I don't know if a lot of people are just ageist or sexist or what, but this movie is by no means as bad as the 1 or 2 star ratings would suggest. It's very humble and genuinely charming. The three leads have fun, make scenes that would be otherwise stale beautiful and enjoyable and overall I laughed, I cried, and got way more than I thought I was in store for. It's plot is paper thin and maybe that doesn't set right with a lot of people but it doesn't need an overly glamorous string of intricate plot outlines to be a good and gentle movie. This won't win any Oscars or Golden Globes, but damn it was it enjoyable, and I just love Diane Keaton. Thumbs up!
This movie is unremarkable and uninspiring. It is clearly aimed at little girls more than anyone, and on that note, it is a success.
However, it is a formulaic and predictable piece of nothing. No song sticks out, no performance rises above. It simply moves along. I could see why someone would hate it but at the same time I think a lot of the ratings here are forced bandwagon negativity and not people thinking for themselves.
A lot of the hate seems to be aimed at the two lead actresses, the cinematography, the CGI, the musical numbers, and the runtime.
On the other hand, the comments that liked it seem to boast Rachel Zegler's vocal abilities, the sheer "fun" and "cuteness" of the film overall and the updated ideas of modern romance and individuality.
In the end, see it for yourself. I'm glad I waited until streaming to see it because it is not worth ticket price but it is certainly not one of the worst movies ever made in the history of movies. It is a clearly blatant Hollywood production that fails to be a good and cohesive movie but unfortunately has garnered an unfairly maligned rep as well... at the end of the day, I would have rather wasted my time on a nothing movie than endured something I absolutely wanted to turn off and that wasn't the case.

I can't believe that this original, classic show has only garnered a 6.6/10 on here... Eliza Thornberry can talk to animals. Animals! You know how cool that would be?!... Her adventures usually lead her to helping out animals and saving them in most cases from destructive forces. Her family travels the world doing this, and among her family is her father Nigel, mother Maryanne, sister Debbie, adoptive son Donnie, and pet chimpanzee Darwin.
This show has great morals. Be kind to animals is the basic consensus of every episode. You learn about a lot of different animals, their living habits and there are some stellar voice acting cameos along the way! This show is also a show for the whole family. It's funny, amusing, and family-oriented. I don't think there's not one episode where the Thornberrys are not altogether on their adventures (forgive me if I'm wrong)...
Apart from being of good morals for helping animals and taking care of your family, the show also like I said makes for some hilarious moments. Nigel Thornberry is voiced by none other than the legendary Tim Curry and he is certainly one of my favorite characters of the show besides Debbie, who is also voiced by the amazing Danielle Harris. The family dynamic is wonderful! You should be able to find some material to laugh at.
Some people say the show is repetitive, others annoying. I simply don't get that. It's not a mind-bending thriller, or action-packed blockbuster. You shouldn't be looking for that with this. However, you should look for the also criminally underrated movie that follows the show. It's one of my favorites. I love The Wild Thornberrys! (:
10/10 stars.
