My friend told me to watch this show, but warned me not to read a single word about it before doing so. I'd say that's exactly the way to experience this show.
When releasing the show the makers promised that it would be a single season, one and done affair. It had a beginning, middle and an end. I haven't read the book trilogy, but from what I understand the first season covers the story in all three books. The first season is fantastic.
But of course greedy producers can't leave well enough alone. Despite their promises - as well as the fact that the story was over - they of course had to do a second season, and it is so bad that it boggles the mind.
The first season was a mystery, and a damn good one. In the second season the mystery is of course gone, and the show is now a soap opera.
This is my third time watching this show, but this time around I can't even be bothered finishing the second season. It's that bad.
Season one: 9 stars Season two: 1 star
For anyone who hasn't watched this show yet I can only say just pretend it's one season and ignore the season two abomination.
