I do not think the show was as bad as many people have said. It was a good show to kill a rainy afternoon. It was the typical disaster type show, a little predictable. The one thing it was very good at was showing the incompetence of management and the government. "What you would rather give the phone to a criminal than a member of parliament" If there was one theme it was the recurring one of incompetence. There have been criticisms of Alexandra Roach and I thought she did a good job of expressing frustration with her leadership. Anyway if you want to kill a rainy afternoon give this a watch.
I chanced upon Patience and thought I would give it a try. It grabbed my attention right away. I found both the character development and the actors to be outstanding. The actress playing Patience is very good prompting me to look her up. Unless I read it wrong I found that she is in fact autistic. Then I wondered and still do how much of her performance is real i.e. It is the way she is and how much is acting. Either way she handles it very good. The story lines are great although I did find her leaving the scene whenever she was overwhelmed a little annoying but perhaps that is how is really responds. The show reminds me a little about the show High Potential where the main character is a genius. This show is worth the watch, and I can't wait until season 2 which I understand is coming.
The show starts out with a lot of promise. I thought Natalie Dormer was great in Game of Thrones. Not so much here. In fact all of the characters were very plastic. The premise of the show was good I did not get a sense of who done it until the last episode. My big problem with the show was the two kids. They were so unlikable but maybe that was intentional. On top of that the detective was completely not believable and unlike most cop shows that one sees he was a complete woose, again maybe that is the way he was supposed act. Again, this could have been a good show if the actors were just a touch more realistic.
