Steve Coogan slips under the skin of the great TV interviewer Brian Walden in a great performance matched by Harriet Walters subtle performance as Margaret Thatcher.
For me this is unbelievably nostalgic as I was a junior cameraman at LWT during the 80's and regularly operated Brian's camera on Weekend World. The depiction of the show itself is very realistic, for the camera crew it was almost as intense as for the politician under Brian Walden's sharp and relentless questioning.
The depiction of LWT and its Studios is a little off as it was a bright modern building even in the 1980's. It is a shame that the filmmakers could not shoot in the real studio, it has been closed since 2018 and is finally being demolished as I write this review.
I wont say anything about the 'cameraman' background artist shown with his hands off the controls mid interview.... You couldn't get away with this with Brian as he squirmed around too much!
RIP Brian Walden, you were the best political interviewer that has ever been. Steve Coogan does you proud.

This is perhaps one of the most disturbing movies ever made, it certainly kept me afraid of the dark when I was a child. 60 years later it still works as intended!
Those expecting the usual gore-fest will be disappointed hence some low IMDB ratings. This film is entirely driven by Davis Boulton's fabulous black and white cinematography and Robert Wise's direction. The entity terrorising the visitors to the house is never seen, but its presence is heard and felt by the audience.
Where special effects are used they are entirely physical. Wallpaper that appears to come to life, the entity trying to push through an ornate wooden door... and that endless creaking spiral staircase that reportedly terrorised the actors.
This was Martin Scorsese's favourite horror movie for good reason, a 'must see' movie but if you do watch it do so in a darkened room!

Very much deserving of its present rating of 9 on IMDB.
Finally the full extent of the cruel Post Office and Fugitsu cover up is revealed to the British Public.
A cover up in which Post Office management prosecuted hundreds of postmasters, forced them into poverty to pay non existent shortfalls and put many in prison.
The facilitators of the scandel, Fugitsu seem to have got away scott free. They were payed over a billion pounds to set up and run the faulty 'Horizon' system and payments are still ongoing for 2024.
When is our government going to sue Fugitsu and properly compensate all of the postmasters that were prosecuted?
If you don't already know the full story, it would be best not to watch the associated documentary until you have seen the drama!
