  • The movie is much better the second time around.

The first time I watched it seemed slow. I thought it was professionally done, and David Morse, as always, was solid.

The second time around it was simply moving. It's worth the effort to slow yourself down, and empathize with David Morse's character.

  • It answered the question why White Afrikaaners were so cruel to Blacks.

The subject of this movie is disturbing. How could some otherwise intelligent, religious, hard-working, and sincere White Afrikaaners treat the native Blacks so cruelly for so long?

The movie answers this question, and also explains how some Afrikaaners are changing in a positive way.
