This is a real shame because I was really pulling for this movie to at least be ok, but it's not...
First off the pacing is just all over the place and goes from breakneck pacing to slowing down a bit too much. Second the humor really didn't do it for me. I chuckled a couple times, but there was a lot of really childish humor in the movie that made me want to honestly walkout of the theater.
Now I'll give it this. There were moments of legitimately solid acting from Sydney Agudong, and Maia Kealoha, but it wasn't enough for me to justify a higher score. And while I enjoy Chris Sanders as Stitch, both voice acting and character design, he was treated with as much care as I wanted him to be.
Also there were really bizarre story changes that really confused me about this film. No spoilers obviously...
Overall this film had its moments, but when you're considering walking out of theater in the middle of the movie, you know this is a bad film.
Watch How to Train Your Dragon instead...

I'll just get straight to the point. I think this movie has some decent storytelling arcs, that while they're touched on, they aren't delved into completely. Which is a shame because it could've been great to have seen a movie that further explores themes of building trust, and choosing to do good even if it seems impossible sometimes. With that I'm mind...
I still think this movie delivers on some really stunning action, and animation. Dream works have really stepped up there game animation wise. Vibrant Colors, and Colorful Character Expressions. The Action and Cinematography in certain scenes were really gorgeous.
And of course, the voice acting never disappoints. Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina, Anthony Ramos never skip a beat. Shoutout though to Maria Baklava for her Voice Acting. She did a really solid job in this and GotG 3. I wanna see more from her.

I'll get the obvious out of the way. The characterizations from this movie can come across as pretty simple. I wouldn't say these characters are dull, but as far character motivations and personalities go, this movie have characters that are pretty straightforward, but with that said...
I do enjoy Garrett Hudland, and Olivia Wilde in there respective roles and they played there characters admirably. Jeff Bridges can never do anything wrong man. He was great in this.
I think the action had some really well executed scenes, that also paired well with the visuals and music. Admittedly when you watch this movie, you watch it for the cinematography and score because they both work so well in this one. Daft Punk man...they freaking killed it with the score.
I have a soft spot for this movie, and I think while it isn't perfect, I think it's better than people give it credit for.
