I really liked the first movie. It was an incredibly clever allegory. While at times it was hard to follow, the overall message was clear. This one though was a bit more puzzling. There was a lot of symbolism that was hard to follow. Was this movie kind of a counterargument to the theme of the first film, where the first film was complete anarchy while the second film is a brutal regime? The messaging is so vague that it begs the question what's the point?
There are some positives though. The characters were decently compelling, honestly more so than the first one, sure the plot isn't driven by masterful character writing, but it is enough that we can sympathize with the characters even with the dubbed voice. There were still some pretty epic action scenes too, and despite the movie being an incoherent mess at times, all the pieces were there. There were some unique ideas, and it didn't feel like this was just "one of those sequels." I did see a genuine attempt to expand on the first movie, unlike a lot of sequels.
Overall this movie was pretty average. If you liked the first one, I would recommend this movie.
