Those reviewers that rate this docu with a low score because it's slow? First of all, why are you watching this documentary? Fancy yourself a foodie but wants to be spoon-fed? Sorry, this docu's not for you. Go watch a MCU movie, your brain will be less exercised than watching this one, while other parts of your body will be more stimulated - guaranteed. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee.
This film really doesn't offer much insight into the working of the Truffle Hunting Industry - there are metric tons of European/BBC food/travel TV shows that covered more ground than this docu/film. But this IMO is intentional, as the director wants to protect the old men and pay respect to their work/passion/livelihood. It is however a great documentary for those that care for the humanity within a rarefied "industry." Also for those that appreciate cinematography that speaks for itself, a shot's meaning further revealed and enforced as it (slightly) lingers.
My wife's a dog lover, while I'm always one that appreciate a film that reveals the humanity of real people. Both of us never get tired of the loyalty of dogs and their loving owners. This film delivers for both of us, in spades.

For those that say there's not enough He-Man in this show, or that it's a "bait-and-switch," after watching the show's first season in its totality I say: It's great to see LESS He-Man!
I feel He-Man/Adam is the LEAST interesting character of the main cast. Casting Lena Heady as Evil-Lyn is the most awesome thing the show has going for it, even better than Hamill as Skeletor. She stole the show!
Animation is better than the average DC fair, although nothing to write home about, it's quite smooth though.
The show's fast paced and its action sequences are on point. The plot never drag and there are lots of plot twist and turns.
There's far more character building in this show than the older series, which sets up a modernized Eternia for both old fans & new audiences alike to enjoy. It's better than threading old grounds in my opinion. It's a worthy addition to the franchise in my opinion.

I can't imagine this is going to end well for many of the die-hard "fans" of the anime classic as they'll endlessly trolls the show just for the sake of it. Just ignore those 1/10 or 10/10 reviews.
We're at a different time, a different place and a vastly different media culture. Things just can't be the same and being live action there are far more limitations than the anime.
There are some rather inventive & colorful sets & clear homage to the OG show's visual & presentation.
Plot-wise it's fast-paced yet easy to follow. Nothing groundbreaking though.
Main casts' acting are fine.
I can see the production tried to put some real effort into every facet of the show. Not a "cash grab" type of production that just piggyback on a brand. Respectful of ts OG material with its own spin on things (to adapt to live action).
Objectively, it's an entertaining enough watch, though not as memorable as the original (How could it? To be fair...). It's a genre show, you'll like it if you're already into the genre, unlikely be a convert if you never cared for it. Set the right & reasonable expectation and enjoy the fun ride. There aren't many shows like it out there!
