I watched this because Aubrey Plaza is in it but alas, she only showed up for about a minute. I've seen Middleditch and Pally in several movies that were actually funny. All of the characters were so pathetic I could not relate at all. Jenny Slate was a welcome addition for the short amount of time she was in it. Not for me.
It's an artistic portrayal of a vengeful Viking, with Defoe making a brief yet mad appearance. Well-lit scenes with super brutal Viking fights and nordic chants. Skarsgård embodies the role perfectly. I hated every second of it. Yet it's an incredible experience. Nicole Kidman seemed wooden in her acting in this film to me. It was pretty good.
I watched this with my wife cause I like Bacon and Moore. It had funny moments... but overall, it was ok. I kept waiting for the "big moment" where this was supposed to be a thriller or even mildly eventful but it ultimately was very disappointing. The idea of trying to relate the average person to billionaires AND make us feel sympathy for that was astonishingly short sighted.
