I am invested in these episodes as if it is my own life. The story is well-written and each character is on the brink of something. I love it!
My only quarrels are, there is not enough Phylicia Rashad and I am have to wait each week for a new episode. I have been spoiled by the "drop the entire season" era.
At the end of the day, there is a deeper message inside Diarra's obsession to find what we all know to be a one night stand. Also, where did the retired cop slink off to? He showed up one episode to blurt out warnings to never be seen again? It is stuff like I need to be wrapped up. Don't introduce a character and not sow up his scenes.
At this point, I am just rambling to meet the quota. I said all you need to know in the beginning. It is a good watch, time well spent.

Firstly, please remember this is a BET movie so expecting big budget imagery and writing and acting is ridiculous. So once I put on my Lifetime Movie, Tubi goggles I enjoyed it. Monique was surrounded by amateurs so of course she stood out. The entire production was beneath her but she made it work to the very end. Whomever did the casting could have brought in at least a more seasoned actress for the role of Sky. She was dead in the face like the girl from Twilight.
It is not what I thought it would be with the story but it was a decent twist. I would watch again to catch a few more inconsistent pieces and watch Monique.

Let's be realistic, this is a movie based on true events. I see some basing their opinion on how well the facts were portrayed. Again, this is a movie and I loved it. It was well written and well acted. I experienced every emotion you can think of from start to finish. This kind of power and grit is exactly what people need. Disregard it is focused on women and uplift women and find a way to simply connect with the experience.
The only thing I can think to criticize is the gaps in action. It was a long movie and there is a building and story time period that made it feel longer. But just when I felt I needed something, the bomb dropped.
If you go to watch a movie with an open mind; void of politics of misogyny of a need for facts, you will love this piece of work.
