They're stumbling drunk to the finish line but they made it, until they didn't. Why not cap it at the end of this episode?
It was scattershot but all the characters managed to get together to execute the mass murdering alien so that was good, in a cartoon way.
Plenty of good Harry and sheriff jokes which is exactly how it should be.
Way too much Darcy and Kate, and now Asta moments about stuff we don't care about and to be honest is getting a bit hard to follow, but we've all learned to switch off when they start babbling and wait for the next bit from the more entertaining cast members. Not their fault cos they're working with what they've been given, I guess. As someone begged last week, give Darcy a character arc, it's 4 seasons and it' the same old same old with her, but not the tedious out of place sob story AA meetings thing. I personally find Judy's bits entertaining though. She sticks to clowning and makes no apologies.
The chase was convoluted, the bite and the ghosting was a late in the game mcguffin, but ok fine for the last episode, except it's not. They reached the finishline in ok shape and then, there's one more 'thing'. Running on fumes now, and perhaps overstaying their welcome. The last episode better be a few steps up from these last 3 or it's going to be a fumbled finish. I'm 50/50 on whether they'll make it.

It seems a good idea on paper to have a team of good comedians having the audience and each other in stitches laughing uncontrollably, but the mistake seems to have been that the comics are not allowed to laugh and the people they are trying to make laugh are other comics whose job often entails keeping a deadpan face while delivering comedy.
I.e it crippled a lot of the elements that make comedy work. Tied a arm behind the back of the comedians as they had to keep themselves from laughing or using laughter to deliver their material and delivered it to the wrong people.
I liked almost all of the comics and it would normally have been fun to spend 6 hours with them but the enjoyment was muted by the assignment. It's so much better to see Richard set free in any other comedy platform rather than hamstrung with this one. Bob Mortimer faired better with his style but he was still pulled back from the edge of delivering belly laughs by the crippling set up which created more problems than opportunities for laughs.
Not the fault of any of the great talent on show who did the best with a system that was working against them. There's got to be a better platform than this to utilise this much comedy talent.

I hoping they can keep focused on the story and laughs without derailing it on pet side issues.
We got a couple of clunkers, telling us the tired story of addiction and recovery with Darcy's AA, like that needs to be in a show about Aliens, and whatever Asta's bit about Biddy Henshaw? Was.
Luckily we got good movement on the actual story anyone is watching this show for and some good laughs. Sheriff Mike delivered with his knowledge on growing radishes, Mayor Ben got some great lines in with his flexes on power and they have Harry room to move and directions to go with the central Aliens story.
If they can just keep it focused for what I'm guessing is the final couple of episodes it'll be a nice round up and we can hopefully forget the 2 clanger episodes in the almost 40 they delivered. You can feel the series struggling though. Good time to end it.
