Take it for what it is: a low-budget Halloween-style horror movie. With an unevent script, too many loose ends, story lines that lead nowhere, and dialogue that much of the time does little to help the actors.
But you know what? I give it a lot of points for making the best of its budget, for the obvious love of the genre and the 80s' horror,. And for Pork Chop who is definitely an 80s throwback and does some pretty good acting as well.
It won't win any Oscars, but I enjoyed watching it for what it is, not for what it isn't. And for that, it is above average.
I don't know if I was looking too hard for references to 80s horror, but I found quite a few. I just hope they were intentional and not me reading too much into it.

This would have been a great Short, but trying to stretch a short into a feature film length makes for a very slow and, I'm sorry to say, extraordinarily boring movie.
According to the trivia, this movie is the debut of both director and almost all of the cast. I am a pretty dedicated horror fan, and the amount of debuts almost made me skip this movie.
However, I was pleasantly surprised. While it has some timing (reactions to scares coming way too late) and pacing issues, and bombastic music where it didn't belong, the movie itself was good. It is, of course, based on the usual cliches but with a bit of an ironic distance that I liked.
You won't get a first class horror movie from such an inexperienced crew, but I am going to check out any future work by the director and the cast. This was a very enjoyable 1 1/2 hours.
One minor annoyance, though: Why do they switch between English and Hindi dialogue all the time? I don't mind foreign films and subtitles at all, but alternating between reading and listening is annoying.
