Wonderful cast delivering a great storyline with funny (and totally relatable - for me, anyway) dialogue (the activation of the "rape ring" bit was hilarious!)
The worst bit was that each episode doesn't go for long enough. Absolutely loved it.
Now, if I was Iris at this point in my review, I would be complaining about the fact that IMDB require me to blabber on to hit the 600 word limit. This is something I'm sure none of you want to read about - I've said my piece, but these arbitrary rules IMDB put in place and will not cease, so, here we are.. oh, I'm almost there... just about to make it...

It's a very thin script (like it's been written to a very very tight deadline) and overacted by most of the cast.
The actors don't really have much they can do with these storylines. In fact, I'd be a little embarrassed to be a part of the show, if I was an actor. These must be THE DUMBEST police detectives every put to screen - four of them need the help of "civilian advisors" to solve any of the crimes! How on earth did they survive before these three women got together? Of course these are just shows, but it seems the last several years, the writers have just given up, or maybe they're as incompetent as these tv detectives.
The acting isn't terrible, but it's a little overdone in parts, particularly by Samantha Bond, who I usually like, but here I think she's trying to make more out of the script than the script will allow. I'm almost at the end of the second series - not sure I can do a third.

I remember Bergerac being on in the early 80s and my family loving it - so I was interested to see what this version was like, thinking, like most remakes, it wouldn't be as good and I'd end up wondering why they bothered. This is where I'm headed with this series....
The storyline starts out weak right at the beginning of episode one and continues for the hour, and after reading some of the reviews here, I'm not sure I can continue with five more. I like the lead actor, and some of the other cast are great too, but the weak and obvious story (that seems to be the go-to for all of the UK's British detective shows now (sadly)) is getting to hard to waste time on. I think I'll skip to the end and save myself another five hours.
