I was pleasantly surprised by how much heart this film has. Credit to John Carney for a well directed and stripped back film that still manages to pack in a lot of heart.

The acting is really great from an amazing cast. I normally dislike Ruffalo, I find most of his performances to be wooden and passionless. But he is good in this role and so is Keira Knightly as his co-star. The supporting cast is also excellent. James Corden is actually tolerable, and Adam Levine does a nice job in his first movie role.

The music is well written and soulful, and the story is heartwarming and relatable. Movies don't need to be splashy, sometimes simple stories about human experiences make for the best art.

When I heard there was a movie about a snowman coming to life as Lacey Chabert's hunky love interest, I knew I had to watch it. I went in with low expectations, but was surprised by the amount of times I chuckled. This movie is well written and clever with the jokes it makes.

There are multiple recognizable faces, unlike most straight to streaming holiday comedies.

Special shoutout to Dustin Milligan for convincingly playing a snowman who has recently become a human.
